CULTIVATING PATIENCE AND METTA
A Non-Residential Retreat
Friday, 5/16, & Saturday, 5/17
9:30 – 5:00
(Registration is required and limited to 20. No partial enrollment.)
This retreat offers a spiritual refuge of calm and stillness – supporting the cultivation of patience and metta (loving-kindness).
Patience strengthens our ability to navigate times of uncertainty with grace and resilience. Metta transforms fear and ill-will into loving-kindness and benevolence in our relationship with ourselves and others with whom we share this life
The qualities of patience and metta work together to protect the mind from falling into the shadow play of fear and aversion, that take the forms of self-judgment, resentment and guilt.
Throughout the retreat, we will explore the wholesome interplay between patience and metta. Dharma talks will also include reflections on the Buddha’s teachings and practices related to the cultivation of love, compassion, joy and equanimity.
Discussion periods will focus on how these qualities stabilize the heart, increase faith, confidence and trust in our human potential to move through the world with increasing wisdom and compassion – dedicated to the greater good present in each moment.

Now, almost 80, with the exception of $788 social security, dana contributions that flow from the spirit of heartfelt gratitude for support and guidance on the Path of Awakening – will remain the means that supports DaeJa’s intention to continue to deepen the practice, on behalf of herself and all breathing beings . If you wish, there will be an opportunity to offer dana at the end of the retreat.
